Remote Specifications

Navigating your app on the X1 platform should be easy. Designing apps for TV requires rethinking user input methods, as users navigate an app using a remote control instead of touchscreen or mouse and keyboard. This section goes over remotes, usable keys, and software keyboards.

App Structure

Our customers know our system and expect it to behave in certain ways. App experiences on X1 and Flex will leverage those expectations and give them a familiar path to get in and out.

Art Guidelines

App tiles and artwork should follow specific guidelines in order to be integrated into the X1 platform.

App Screensaver

While screen burn-in isn’t as common with the new technologies in screens, we still recommend following certain guidelines to prevent burn in for customers who may still own and use screens that are susceptible to it.
