To get started on our platform, you’ll need to understand the platform technical foundations, review development requirements, and learn how to access necessary tools and resources.
Understand the platform and create your first app
To start, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with foundational aspects of our platform technology, specifically Firebolt® and Lightning™.
Read the Intro to Firebolt to learn about our platform APIs and Intro to Lightning to learn about our performance-driven UI framework.
Learn the Firebolt Essentials for instructions on installing Firebolt and using basic API calls.
Follow the Hello World Guide to create your first app with Firebolt and Lightning.
Review development requirements
All apps on the platform need to be built according to specific requirements to ensure they function properly across devices and propositions. As such, you’ll want to review:
Device Specs of the specific device(s) for which you plan to build your app.
Baseline Firebolt APIs to see the calls your app is required to include as part of its minimum functionality.
App Requirements to learn about requirements for the functionality and features you must implement in your app.
Access tools and help
While developing your app, you’ll need access to certain tools and resources to test your app functionality and get help when you run into issues.
If you haven’t yet done so, create an account on the portal and join your organization to access additional documentation and resources. For details on doing so, contact the team administrator for your organization’s account on the platform.
After creating your account, you can request devices to use during development and testing of your app.
If you are developing your app for X1 devices, review Accessing the Network and Content Proxy for additional guidance once you have received your devices.
If you run into issues, check out our help center to access support articles or submit a ticket to our Partner Engagement Team.
